Estate agent turned farmer kills himself

AN estate agent who realised his ambition to become a farmer killed himself when he became anxious about the future of his farm, an inquest heard this week.

Richard Hart, 49, shot himself in a barn on his 93ha (230 acre) cattle farm at Boyton, near Launceston, Cornwall.

He bought it two years ago after moving from Romsey in Hampshire.

The hearing was told he died on the day he was due to meet agricultural advisers who wanted to reassure him about his business.

A friend told the inquest that he had become depressed away from his friends in Hampshire.
