‘I am contemplating staying on to complete a masters course’

Aberystwyth

At present I am in my final year studying BSc Agriculture with Business Studies. I am contemplating staying on to complete a masters course within the department of IBERS; showing the enthusiasm I have not only for the University but also Aberystwyth as a place to live.

Aberystwyth University is diverse and on the ball; it caters for all your needs and in particular I have found the lecturers within IBERs to be very accommodating and willing to help.

The degree scheme I am studying at present is varied and enables me to interact with people across many disciplines; improving my social skills.

I do not come from a farming background however have been widely accepted onto the course by my fellow coursemates. Despite not having a previous knowledge of agriculture, I have managed to cope with the work due to the lecture content being in a format making it easy to understand.

The knowledge of the staff is outstanding and they continuously strive to ensure I am understanding the workload; even if this does mean they spend time answering all of my questions which to many farmers may just be common sense!

Speaking of social skills, Aberystwyth is an incredibly friendly place. There are plenty of pubs to choose from for a quiet drink and the few nightclubs offer a pleasurable dancing experience in a safe environment making nights out enjoyable, memorable and never dangerous!

Aside from the drinking side of socialising, there are numerous societies to join and activities to take part in; whatever your interest, Aberystwyth will satisfy it.
